Why Being a Woman Made Sex Better for Me
Much of the world considers it common knowledge that men enjoy sex more than women. I beg to differ.

On my Substack blog I recently published an essay entitled "Why Being a Woman Made Sex Better for Me." It's a provocative title but I really do mean it. Despite structural harms women face, there are aspects of the sexual experience where womanhood confers practical advantages, and I believe noticing that can open better empathy between genders. This is what I've attempted to do by sharing about my own sexual experience.
I can see from the men I work with, and from the men I've been lucky enough to love, that many of the "advantages" society grants straight cis men, actually prevent them from experiencing as much pleasure and freedom that I've been able to experience in my sexuality. Pressure to perform and fear of being viewed as a "creep" keep a lot of men from being able to relax fully into the sexual experience and be fully present with their partners.
I talk about how different my experiences have been and share ways that I try to help my clients get past it in my writing. You can read the full essay here.
